POTD 7.8.07

Well, I hope that 7.7.07 was a lucky day for you. It kinda was for me. Bad News: I over slept and missed my shot at going to the flea market to look at the cute bunnies. Good News: I got some new DVD's and I got the LAST copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that they had on sale...so I'd consider that pretty lucky. Oh, and I get to hang out with my SIL on Wednesday! We are going to go see the new HP movie! :) Plus, she is going to teach me how to sew a curtain! :) She's the BEST!

Here in Alabama, it rained all day-a good thing considering we are in the middle of a drought right now. So no new pictures today. However, I thought that I would post an oldie goldie from a few months ago. This was my very first baby shoot. I had the VERY best time with these guys! These are a couple of the storyboards that I made for their mommies. Hopefully, I will see my sister at my parent's house later today and get some good pictures of her! :)

POTD 7.7.07
The last few days have been so busy!!! We have driven EVERYWHERE! For the 4th of July we went with DH's parent's to this really cool Colonial American town called American Village. It was really cute. And of course Kendall, being the history buff that he is, just had the best time reading everything! :) Then, we went to watch the fireworks in downtown Birmingham. It was good times. Here are the pictures with kendall in the gallows. These are not technical-they are just snapshot type pics-so just ignore the technical mishaps.:) Oh, I also got ONE picture of the fireworks-it didn't come out so great. But I'm going to be ready next time-Anniston is having it's 4th of July show on Labor Day due to the drought. I also have a whole basket of sparklers left over from our wedding that I plan on experimenting with! :)






Then today, we went to cullman to have dinner with kendall's family. DH wanted to get there early so he could show me the town (he ran cross country in high school and did several matches there.) Anyways, we went to the lake and there were some really fun ducks there just begging for a photo shoot.....well, they were interested in my camera...:)

yeah, yeah, this one's a little blury...i just really liked the compostition to it.

POTD 7.4.07

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!
Well, it's just after midnight on the 4th. I thought that I'd get an early start on my POTD for the day. Well, I promised pictures from Kat's big birthday bash. Unfourtunatly, we celebrated at Olive Garden and the lighting in there is very low. I REALLY hate using my flash-esp. in a public place-so I had to use low ss. Most of my pics came out pretty crummy. :(
However, I did get this one-It's a good thing too-it's my favorite of the bunch. Although, the pictures of Kat when everyone came out singing were pretty funny! :) I<3>
We had a really wonderful time having dinner with these two! I can hardly wait to do it again!

POTD 7.3.07

so finally...PICTURES! :) I call this collection..."completly RANDOM." Today has been such a wonderful day! Kendall had today off and so we went SHOPPING! :) I got the CUTEST dress at American Eagle. I also got to shoot some pictures of "pup" my dad's pet. However, he is NOT very photogenic!


I just love this picture-It's Kendall's hands! (of course I'd love them) :)

oh, this is that neato potato icecream I talked about a couple of posts back. I mean the thing even has wrinkles!!!!

POTD 7.2.07

ok....so there is no photo of the day today-or the last two days :(
Everytime that I've got ready to shot something happens. The other day DH and I went out of town. I thought-oh perfect! I can get some nice shots of him somewhere diffrent! However, just my luck it started to RAIN-and not just a little bit....it was like a MONSOON! So on Sat. I decided to dedicate the day to a photoshoot of kendall. We were going to go back to the same place that we were the day before (it's about 2 hours away and kendall was for a nice drive). It was BEAUTIFUL and I was so excited on the way there. Well, we get about 45 minutes into the trip....and I realize that I DON'T HAVE MY CAMERA!!!!! :( I had forgotten it despite putting it next to my purse on the night before. It just about RUINED the rest of my day.
Then today I MADE SURE that my camera was with me. We went over to my parent's house for our weekly visit. I wanted to shoot some with my dad and his "pup." My mom does not allow the puppy in the house so outside shots were a must. Well, by the time we got down to their house...a thunderstorm magically apears AGAIN!!!!! :(
I just can't believe the bad luck that I've been having lately. However, I did get some nice ones of Kat and Will. It was Kat's big 2-5 on Friday and Kendall and I joined them at Olive Garden. We had a great time-it was so nice seeing them again! :) I got a GREAT one of Kat's face when they sang to her! :) I still have to edit them though so hopefully all this bad luck will end and I will be able to go out and shoot some tomorrow. I really hope to have my POTD back up by then. Well, I hope that everyone else has had a much better few days than me!

POTD 6.29.07

Today has been the very BEST day! DH had the today and the rest of the week off and so we were lazy all day. Then he took me out to this DELICIOUS Italian restraunt in Rainbow City. We even split a dessert-it's ice cream but it looks just like a baked potato-the put cinimmon/cocoa for the "skin" and whip cream for the "sour cream." I took a picture of it but of course my batteries went out on me right then. Anyways, I'll post a not so good picture of it later.
I am married to the VERY BEST guy in the whole wide world! He is letting me get a new film SLR camera! :) After taking film photography last semester I have really fallen for the challenge of it. I've also bidded on a telephoto lens and a wide angle lens! (ha ha last paycheck from the nursery should pay for these :) I hope that I get them. The camera is a Canon Rebel K2 EOS.
I'm so excited about today! It's my dear friend Kat's BIRTHDAY! She is 25!!!!! sooo...HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAT! (and most likely the subject of my next POTD!)
Well, since I've been LAZY as everything today-i'm leaving you with a couple of pictures I took recently.

POTD 6.28.07

today's pictures are self portraits. Kendall my DH, went to the Brave's game tonight and that gave me some just me time, so I decided to try out some natural lighting from the big window in our living room. Unfortunatly, I chose the WRONG day to do it. After I had got everything set up-a storm came and there went a lot of my natural light! :( Sadly, on the majority of these I had to use a low shutter speed and the pictures are blurry. :(

Hopefully next time I will have a better subject to photograph. It's HARD doing self portraits! Oh well, I needed a new myspace picture anyways....


I'm actually kinda surprised that this one ended up being my favorite of the bunch. I'm not wild about the crop on it but it is in much better focus than the others.....dumb storm! :(

this one was taken infront of my white backdrop ( just a white blanket for now). I got my exposure pretty close on it but you could see through the blanket so I had to dodge the crap out of the background. I just hate that it is BLURRY!!!!!!!

POTD 6.27.07

ok so this is my VERY first POTD. I've seen this done on 2peas and wanted to give it a shot. :)
Hopefully, I will keep this up and it will be a constant meter of my progress.

First, a little background info: I am majoring in art with a concentration in graphic design. I took my first photography class in the spring and haven't put down my camera since. Since then, I have spent countless hours reading, shooting pictures, looking at other's work, and really getting to know photoshop.

I guess that I will start my POTD blog with my most recent photos. These are all from my sister's wedding on 6.16.07. I had an absolute BLAST taking these! :) I am hoping to do some more photos with her sometime soon!

this was the cute little flower girl-she has the most beautiful eyes!
